It snowed in February.
At first, just a little.
But a little is all it takes to cancel school around here.
There was some sledding and some snowball throwing.
There was also snow licking and sniffing.
The next day.....MORE SNOW!
This time a bit more.
It was heavy snow perfect for building.....
Hmmmm.
The snow ended up melting throughout the day and that Friday there was school.
Mikey had fun at his school's Mystery Masquerade party.
I nominated myself for a position on the state PTA board of directors.
I had to send in a PTA resume and a head shot.
Nope. I didn't send in this one.
What a naughty dog.

Mikey's English class put together proposals to help end Washington state's K-12 funding gap. They then traveled to Olympia to present their plans to legislators.
At the end of the week, he dressed up like this for Valentines.

The following Monday was Presidents Day.
It was also the first day of Mikey's mid-winter break as well as the state PTA's day of advocacy in the capital.
Mikey and some friends were having a staycation at an Airbnb that just happened to be near the event.
His friend's mom, who is also one of my friends and a PTA peep, convinced them to travel to add their voices to the call to fully fund education.

They marched around the capital, joined in a protest and met with legislators to let them know how the shortfalls were affecting them directly.
I don't wanna leave Katie out.
She was busy with school stuff.
We went to watch her rugby team play UDub. They lost.

She sent me this picture of her Who hair curl in full effect.
Towards the end of February, we had a wicked windstorm.
A giant branch fell and landed on our deck cracking a board in half.
And, that's quite a feat. Our deck is composite material. Like, Trex decking.

While we weren't too happy about the broken deck board, someone else was happy about all the sticks that were strewn all over the deck.
We had the windshield replaced in Katie's car the month before.
Because she was at school, the car mostly sat in our driveway.
I had to drive it one day and realized there was a significant puddle in the driver side footwell.

With the heavy wet snow at the beginning of the month followed by storm after super rainy storm, we found out the hard way that there was a leak in the new windshield.
It took a week or more to dry.
Sigh.
And, we had to have them come out and fix the windshield.
And, we had to have them come out and fix the windshield.
It was covered by warranty.
