March through November 2025

So, my plan didn't quite work out to post one blog post per week until the end of the year.
Turns out that I'm just too busy.
And, when I'm NOT busy, I find other things that I should get done to alleviate future busyness.

Here's the plan. Knock out March through November all at one go.
Just a few photos from each with a blurb about what went on that month.

MARCH 2025

Set building commenced for the spring musical.

Katie came home to attend Emerald City Comicon with us.

The last week of the month was Katie's Spring Break. She came home to chill.
We went to see "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: The Super Live" in Seattle.

Breakfast of Champions - Lucky Charms and Orange Creme Coke.
She did not put the Coke IN the Lucky Charms. It was on the side as her beverage.

Other notable things in March:
  • Mikey attended the State Thespian Festival. I attended as a chaperone. One of the students had a stage fight with another kid that looked so real that the police almost got involved.
  • Dentist appointments, doctor appointments, IV infusion, PTA/Booster/Day Camp meetings, school, drama stuff. All the regular stuff that happens every month or so.

APRIL 2025

Spring brings bunnies.

Lots of bunnies.

The set build for the musical was wrapping up, leaving plenty of time for arm wrestling.

The musical was Mamma Mia!.
Mikey was in the ensemble.

There was a dress up and sing-along night.

Katie came home for an IV infusion and was able to catch the show.....

....and hang around for Easter.

This year, the orange carrot plastic egg did not have a clue in it but had a puzzle piece.
The kids had to build the puzzle to get the first clue.

It took them half the time to build the puzzle than it did the Easter Bunny who had to build it the day before to write the clue on the back.
Baskets were quickly found.

Huzbend and Mikey went to see AC/DC in Vancouver.

Other notable things in April:
  • Ralph turned 11 years old. YAY!

MAY 2025

It was still spring which meant the bunny babies were starting to make an appearance.

Our state PTA had its annual business meeting and conference.
As chair of the governance committee, I had to help introduce bylaws changes to our members and help the president run the vote to approve them.
I was also elected as the state PTA secretary.

Our friend Mike and his wife came to visit.
We had fun hanging out, playing games and eating good food with them and their friends from college.

Huzbend and I attended a murder mystery dinner.

Mikey's ESports team held their annual weekend long charity livestream and raised over $10,000 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Mikey and I headed back east to attend my nephew's high school graduation.

While we were there, we visited with family, tried some yummy pizza and ate some AMAZING Italian food.

Mikey participated in a judo tournament.

Other notable things in May:
  • Nothing I didn't already mention.
JUNE 2025

I got awards and stuff.

Katie came home for the summer.

As a "Welcome Home" surprise, Ralph stole and chewed her "Ralph" heat pack.

Haircuts for all. I think someone grew over the course of the year.

Other notable things in June:
  • Drama wrapped up for the year with a year-end banquet. I got another award.
  • I officially started my state PTA job, had my first state board meeting and the beginning of our weekly executive committee meetings.
  • Mikey took and passed his written driving test.
   JULY 2025

The Fourth of July was a sunny, hot one. We watched the parade.

Ralph enjoyed the sunshine.

Another year at Girl Scout Day Camp.

Mikey was at the games station.

Katie was at the cooking station.

I helped as co-director helping to plan and keep things running smoothly.

Huzbend, Katie and Mikey headed back East to celebrate Grandpa's 80th birthday.

At the end of the month, we made our yearly visit to the Oregon coast.

Much boogie boarding was accomplished.

Mikey celebrated his 16th birthday while we were away.

Other notable things in July:
  • Huzbend turned a whopping 52 years old.
  • Mikey passed his road driving test.
AUGUST 2025

After passing the written and driving test and completing his practice driving hours, Mikey officially got his license.

We went blueberry picking.

We saw Weird Al Yankovic in concert.

Katie celebrated her 19th birthday.

She also completed a phlebotomy course and became a registered phlebotomist.

We ended the month by attending the local state fair.

Kettle corn, bacon wrapped hot dogs and Dole Whips were consumed.

Other notable things in August:
  • Katie had an endoscopy, a colonoscopy and an MRI.
  • I taught some PTA classes at a statewide virtual event.

    SEPTEMBER 2025
Mikey had his first day at his video game programming program at a local college. he met us at our favorite ice cream place for a "start of the school year" treat.

Here's Mikey's feelings about the start of his junior year.
This year he would spend half the day at his high school and half the day at an off-site program.
He also participated in drama, was his high school ASB treasurer and was president of the Esports Club.

We dropped Katie off at school and helped her move into her condo.
Say hello to Wimothy, the giant bunny Peep.

Mikey attended a friends high school Homecoming dance.

No matter how crazy things get, there's always time to pet Ralph.

Other notable things in September:
  • Mikey was cast in the Dramafest play "When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors."
  • It was weird not having Katie home.

    OCTOBER 2025
Mikey's high school homecoming theme was Fantasy.

He participated in another judo tournament and won his first match.

Katie with her pal, Benny.

Ralph was sad that the warm and sunny weather was coming to an end.

Katie played in the rugby alumni game.

Halloween snuck up fast.
For the first time, we didn't go to a pumpkin patch. I got Mikey's pumpkin from QFC.
Mikey's design was a Warhammer design. It was the symbol of Khorne, the blood god.

Mikey hung out a friend's house. He didn't miss trick-or-treating. It was POURING rain out.
Huzbend and I were invited to a "Pies & Games" party.

Katie hung out with friends and carved a pumpkin.

Her design was the Autism creature (or Yippee).

Other notable things in October:
  • Mikey was cast in the winter play "Our Town" as Joe Crowell, Jr..
  • Mikey's high school had their annual Costume Carnival.
  • Huzbend purchased an e-bike to ride back and forth to work. He would have to return to office at least three days a week starting in February 2026.
  • As secretary, I took minutes for the first Legislative Assembly of my state PTA term.

NOVEMBER 2025

Mikey performed in "When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors" as the "Cowardly Lion" who does a monologue from "Glengarry Glen Ross".

Katie had official rugby pictures taken.

Katie came home for Thanksgiving.
We all watched the parade together.

Huzbend cooked up a mean turkey.

Dinner was super yummy.

Other notable things in November:
  • Katie got a position at a lab that studies mice with IBD and Autism.
