Katie asked, "When I wake up tomorrow will the Easter Bunny have already hid all the eggs?"
Well, I did it. I told the truth. But, you know what? She didn't really seem to care as long as she was still going to find eggs and get an Easter basket.
Okay. It was either that or she just chose to disregard my ugly truth and continued to think a pink bunny was going to sneak into our house.
It was egg crazy around here. First of all, Katie did not want to color eggs this year. She's figured out that real eggs are lame 'cause she can't even eat them. Only good things (like candy, stickers and money) come in little plastic eggs. So, I hid 24 plastic eggs to try to give Mikey a chance of finding a few. He found three or four, I think. He didn't really stand a chance. Katie brought her A game and found all the eggs in about 15 minutes.
I made the search for the baskets a little more complicated. Last year it was one step to the basket. This year I did two steps. I'll tell you, it's really hard to write Easter basket clues at 7 in the morning after a horrible nights sleep while simultaneously trying to stop Mikey from eating your Chapstick.
After our morning sugar rush, we headed over to the neighbor's house for brunch and an afternoon neighborhood egg hunt.
All in all, it was a great day. Katie inhaled her chocolate bunny and Mikey....well, he inhaled about 4 or 5 mini chocolate bars during the neighborhood egg hunt. It was not a good nap day for him.
Here are some vids and pics of our day. Enjoy!
And here's the neighborhood egg hunt:
