God.
If you remember that song, you are as old as me (maybe even older).
Ha! You're old.
Ah-ha-ha-hem.
Anywho.
There was a Science Fair/Art Walk at Katie's school this week. It was open to all students - kindies through 6th graders. Katie couldn't wait to participate.
There was no actual extra work needed to produce masterpieces for the Art Walk portion of the event. Katie creates about two a day. We selected four recent creations from her huge (and still growing) portfolio.
"Katie drewed this!"
While mulling over her science project, she came up with various subjects: "Pandas - Why Do They Have Not So Many Babies", "Orca Whales", "Why Do People Use the Potty", and finally "What's Inside A Bean?"
She settled on Beans. I checked out every book about Beans out of our library system (including all the firefighter books so Mikey wouldn't feel left out). And we got to work.
She worked hard on her board, writing and drawing all the stuff herself. We cut open some beans, sliced a bean seed open for people to look at under a microscope, and also grew some (like 40) "baby" beans. She was very proud of her display.
