We got back from Kauai just in time for the 4th of July.
We had to go to the parade.
Again.
We took Ralph to the parade and to the fireworks display.
We kinda had to because we couldn't leave him home.
He got some hot spots when we left him at the boarding place.
He was all pussy and gross.
I didn't want him to make it worse by itching it to death.
Anyways, he enjoyed coming with us.
And the kids liked the fact that their dog could watch fireworks with them.
Oooooooooooooooo.
The following week, summer camps started.
Both kids began with theatre camps.
These theatre camps are great.
The kids come up with the plot, the characters, the costumes and all the dialogue.
Mikey's camp was a Hogwarts theme.
His character.....
Death, the Lord of Lord Voldemort.
He was THE bad guy in his play.
Like the main villain.
He avada kedavra'd a sabre-tooth tiger!
Then, he kidnapped the wizard and witches pets,
Puppy and Kitten!
Then he turned Puppy and Kitten into monsters!
Seriously, he was a bad dude.
At the end, the wizards and witches ganged up on him and they had a duel.
They put some sort of a confundus charm on him and then snuck up behind him and poured a potion on him to make him nice.
When he woke up they told him he was a good guy and his name became, "Light".

In between camp weeks, Katie and I went to see the Broadway show, Wicked, in Seattle.
It was fantastic. We had a great girls day out.
I'm so happy that she's okay with shows and movies now.
Phew!
The next week it was Katie's turn for theatre camp.
Katie's camp was entitled Epic Battle.
The kids picked Aliens vs. Mythical Creatures.
She was on the good guy team.
Her character......
Kate, the demigod. Daughter of Demeter.
Her weakness: Anything that can kill a mortal.
Her special power: Power to command plants.
The aliens had enslaved the mythical creatures.
The mythical creatures conspired to break free.
In the process, they fought.
A lot.
Kate, the demigod, fought with Bob the Opposite Minion, who's weakness was pink frosting.
POW, right in the kisser!
After all the individual fights, there was an epic battle.
It seemed that all was lost for the mythical creatures!

Then, someone had a birthday.
A 42nd birthday.
Phhhhhhhhhhffffffffffffffff
Okay.
Not the best cup to enjoy the chosen beverage.
I know.
Really. Let it go.
Dark chocolate covered mangoes.
And.....
A giant Nerf gun with a 10 bullet clip and missiles.
I guess it doesn't get much better than that.
