501? What? Otherwise known as September

This is the 501st post on the blog.

Wow.

Even though I've reached 500 posts, this year is probably the year that I have had the least amount of entries and the most amount of hospital visits.

So, cheers to me!

Picking up where I left off, our family was now back together for the Labor Day weekend.

Mikey was feeling much better and so we decided to head on out to the Evergreen State Fair.

You know state fairs.  Most states have 'em.  I think.

They're home to many things, such as;

Signs like this.....

....really bad pizza that kids equate to ambrosia.....

....scary-big rabbits.....

......4H dogs that you can pet.....

....and RIDES.

Okay.  So, I'm not a fan of state fair carnival rides.

BUT, sigh, I suck it up every year.  I stand on the other side of the safety fencing hoping against hope that a flying swing doesn't disconnect and hit me in the head or that I see my kid flying past me....

Mikey was tall enough to do more rides this time.

He was very excited to ride the Crazy Caterpillar this year with Katie.
Usually he has to ride with me.
(insert mopey emoji here)

They had a really good time.

Aforementioned swings.

They have a very small but very cool carousel at the state fair.

Some of the "horses" are mythological creatures and woodland animals.

If you're first in line, you get first pick.

Katie picked the Sea Dragon.

They match!

Mikey picked a giant rabbit.
Very fitting for a state fair.
I think we saw this guy in an earlier picture.

Here he is christening him "God Bunny".
For obvious reasons.

Oh.  I forgot one more thing about state fairs.
There's lots of stuff to eat.
Lots of SPECIAL TREAT stuff.
Huzbend and I shared a strawberry shortcake.

Mikey picked a nut allergy friendly giant ice cream sandwich.

Katie picked her all time favorite special treat.

Sugar.

After a nice Labor Day weekend chill out, it was time to get back to business.

Although it was Katie's 4th day of school, it was Mikey's first.

So, I took a picture.

Pretend First Day of School 2015.

Not only was it the start of school, but it was the start of my career as a PTA co-Prez.

Yikes.

Busy.  Busy.  Busy.

Our first event of the year was our Ice Cream Social.
We had ice cream sundaes for everyone.

Well, except my kids.
They got single serving cups of grocery store ice cream.

They didn't care.

This is what happens when your wife is a PTA president.

You get forcibly volunteered to be the "Cherry Guy" in the ice cream sundae manufacturing line.

The kids had a great time.

They might have been a little hyper because they actually had TWO single serve ice cream cups.

The Ice Cream Social Dance Party.
Rock on!

At the end of the month there was a lunar eclipse.
The kids thought it was cool for, like, 5 minutes and then proceeded to run around the field with friends instead.
Sigh.
Huzbend wasn't impressed either.
He's was a science party pooper.
Double sigh.

I took a picture anyways.

The week after that was Katie's first interschool cross country meet.

She is so serious when she runs.

She's probably giggling on the inside.

April 2024 - Part 2

I'm not gonna lie. The rest of April was about Cinderella and pretty much just Cinderella.  We arrived back from Mexico for the start of...
