Catching Up Summer: Part One

Last night Huzbend was sitting at the computer and looked over at me.

"Your last blog entry was July 12th," he said accusatorially.

Sigh.

I'm gonna attempt to catch up on the events and activities that have been happening this fantastically crazy summer of 2013.

I think I'll do it one little bit at a time instead of one long, gimongous (that's a Mikey original word) post.

Hmmmm.  Like bite-sized chunks.  Haha.  I said Chunk.  Truffle Shuffle.

Waaaaaayyyyyy back on July 9th, right after our Fourth of July Firework-a-ganza, we got word from a farm that blueberries were ready to pick!

And so we did.  Well, some of us did.

Katie had a nice full bucket and so did I.
Mikey.....not so much.  I believe he ate about one pound before we packed it in.

And then, for some reason, it was time to decorate ourselves.
Boredom, maybe?

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

"Braaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnnsssssss........."

We went to a lake beach and had a picnic.

Below is an example of why I always carry the camera.
This picture was taken by Huzbend.

Nothing better than a visit to the beach and BUBBLES!

Next up.  It was someone's birthday.
Someone's 40th birthday.
And that someone loves pie.
So I made two.
Banana cream and farm-picked blueberry (see pics above).

Filling & Whipped Cream = Home made.
Crust = Courtesy of my friend, The Dough Boy.

Happy Birthday To You!
Happy Birthday To You!
You look like a monkey,
And you smell like a guy that rode home on his bike wearing pre-sweat-in clothes on an 80 degree day!

Yum.

The best thing about pie is that Katie and Mikey are not the biggest fans.
They'll each take about two bites and that's it.
No frosting on pie, you see.
Guess that means more for us grown-ups.

And, oh yes.  Your eyes do not deceive you.

This is what Huzbend wanted for his birthday.

Next up.....

Neighborhood Camping Trip to Oregon!

Did you know Oregon has SAND on its beaches?
Washington only has smelly seaweed and rocks.

April 2024 - Part 2

I'm not gonna lie. The rest of April was about Cinderella and pretty much just Cinderella.  We arrived back from Mexico for the start of...
